10/16/21 - 2021-2022 Special Elections Executive Board Vacancies

Hello RESPA Members!

We have the following Executive Board vacancies:

  • Director of Maintenance and Operations

  • Director of Technical and Fiscal

  • Director of Clerical

  • Director of Safety

We are holding a special election to fill these positions on the Board by November 2021.All eligible members for each respective series may apply. Please refer to theCollective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for your job title and which series it falls under. This will tell you what you are eligible to run for if the position is vacant. For example: A plumber can run for Maintenance and Operations, but not Clerical. A Safety Officer can run for Safetybut not for Technical and Fiscal.

All nomination forms for candidacy will be emailed by Saturday, October 16, 2021. Completed nominations forms must be returned to Peter Castellanos, Elections Chair by email (respachair@gmail.com – PDF format only or to the warehouse) by 3:30 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021.

Election process and timeline:

October 16, 2021 – Announcement of vacancies and

Declaration of Candidacy Forms distributed via email to all members.

Paper copies available upon request by contacting Peter Castellanos via

Email (respachair@gmail.com).

October 22, 2021 – Declaration of Candidacy Forms must be received by 3:30 p.m. to Peter

Castellanos, Election Chair – Warehouse. Post marked not accepted.

October 23, 2021 – Acknowledgment of Declaration of Candidacy

October 24, 2021 – Preparation of campaign statements, electronic voting material, paper ballots and voter registration roster, sign-in sheets.

October 25, 2021 – Distribution of materials to all members via email to post at their sites, share with all members, provide candidates with a membership roster.

November 1 – 8, 2021 – Electronic voting window begins. Paper ballots must be requested prior to the voting window by contacting Peter Castellanos - respachair@gmail.com. No in-person voting will be held. All paper ballots must be sent to Peter Castellanos – 250 Church Street, Redlands, CA 92374. Post marked not accepted.

November 13, 2021 – Paper ballots counting at the RESPA office starting at 9:00 am.

November 14, 2021 – Announcement of results via email, and materials to post at each site.

November 29, 2021 - Challenge to the election must be received by Peter Castellanos, Elections Chair via email (respachair@gmail.com) by 3:30 p.m. Post marked not

accepted.

December 6 – 8, 2021 – Run-off election if necessary.


December 8, 2021 – Run-off paper ballot and voter roster, sign-in sheets will close by 12:00 p.m. for counting.

December 13, 2021 - Announce run-off results via email.

January 2, 2022 - A challenge to the election including the run-off election must be received by 2:00 p.m. – Peter Castellanos via email (respachair@gmail.com).
