2/1/21 - 2021 Executive Board, Director at Large and NEA RA Elections - RESPA Election Announcement

Executive Board and Directors at Large positions are up for election for a two year term (2021-2022 & 2022-2023). The NEA Representative Assembly (RA) Delegates (in Denver, CO – virtual) are for one year (2021-2022). Positions are listed below.

The attached nomination form is for any member who is interested in running for the Executive Board positions. Director at Large positions are only for those who work in those particular job classification.

You must read all forms to complete them correctly, sign and return by 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 to Peter Castellanos – Clement MS.

I encourage each nominee to provide a photo with your nomination and biographical sketch forms.

Election process and timeline:

February 1, 2021 – Announcement of vacancies

Declaration of Candidacy Forms distributed via email to all members and posted

on RESPA’s website

February 9, 2021 – Declaration of Candidacy Forms must be received by 12:00 pm - Peter Castellanos,

Election Chair – Clement MS. Post marked not accepted.

February 9, 2021 – Acknowledgment of Declaration of Candidacy

February 10, 2021 – Preparation of campaign statements, paper ballots, voter registration

roster, sign-in sheets. Voting doesn't start on this day. Voting begins February 17 through February 25 as listed below.

February 12, 2021 – Distribution of materials to all members via email to post at their sites, share

with all members, post on RESPA’s website, provide candidates with a membership roster.

February 17 – 25, 2021 – Paper ballot voting at the RESPA office (back of the building due to COVID-19).

Excluding weekends. Potentially electronic voting (currently pending).

February 17, 2021 – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

February 18, 2021 – 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

February 19, 2021 – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

February 22, 2021 – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

February 23, 2021 – 7:00 am to 10:00 am

February 24, 2021 – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

February 25, 2021 – 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

February 26, 2021 – Paper ballots counting at the RESPA office starting at 9:00 am.

March 1, 2021 – Announcement of results via email, and materials to post at each site. This will include a

run-off announcement (if necessary).

March 15, 2021 – Election challenge must be received by 12:00 pm – Peter Castellanos – Clement MS.

Unless there is a run-off election. Post marked not accepted.

April 6 – 8, 2021 - Run-off election if necessary.

April 8, 2021 – Run-off paper ballot and voter roster, sign-in sheets will close by 12:00 pm for counting.

April 9, 2021 – Announce run-off results via email.

April 16, 2021 – NEA RA Delegates who have been elected to both state and local delegate positions

must notify the San Gorgonio Service Center Council and their local in writing of the

position accepted (delegates may not hold both positions).

April 22, 2021 – CTA State successor delegates to be notified should there be a position available

due to a state delegate choosing to go as a local delegate.

April 30, 2021 – A challenge to the election including the run-off election must be received by

12:00 pm – Peter Castellanos – Clement MS. Post marked date not accepted.
